Common questions about these calculators
Are these estimates accurate?+
They're estimates, not offers. Real terms depend on your credit, income, and the lender. Use these to compare options, not to predict an exact payment.
Does using a calculator affect my credit?+
No. Nothing here runs a credit check or shares your details.
Which calculator should I start with?+
If you're deciding whether to act, start with interest savings or debt consolidation. If you've already decided, use the monthly payment or affordability calculator.
Is a debt consolidation calculator the same as a loan calculator?+
No. The loan calculator shows what a single loan would cost. The debt consolidation calculator takes multiple balances you already have and shows what one combined payment would look like against them.
What information do I need before I use these calculators?+
For most of them, just your balance, interest rate, and loan term. The affordability calculator also asks for your income and monthly debt payments, since it's estimating what you could borrow rather than what a specific loan would cost.
Does a HELOC calculator work the same as a home equity loan calculator?+
No. A HELOC has two phases, a draw period and a repayment period, so the calculator shows how your payment shifts between them. A home equity loan has one fixed payment for the full term, so that calculator is simpler by design.
