Balance transfer calculator
See what a 0% offer really saves you.
Move your credit card debt onto one card with a lower rate for a set time. Pay it down faster, or use the room it gives you to work out your Next Best Move.
Balance transfer
What you'd actually save, after the fee and what happens if the offer ends.
The saving assumes you clear $5,150 within the 18-month window at $286.11 a month. Pay less than that and whatever is left reverts to a normal rate, at which point you’ve paid $150 in fees for a delay rather than a saving.
Estimates only, based on the figures you enter, not an offer of credit. Your actual rate and payment depend on the lender and your circumstances.
Reading your result
| Your result | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pay this much monthly | The estimated monthly payment needed to pay off the transferred balance before the 0% period ends. |
| Transfer fee | The one-time cost of moving the balance, usually based on a percentage of the amount transferred. |
| Net savings | The estimated amount you could save after the transfer fee, compared with keeping the balance on your current card and paying it off over the same period. |
What you keep is the savings after the transfer fee.
The payoff target matters too. Any balance left when the 0% period ends may move to the card’s standard rate. The strategy works best when the monthly payment fits your budget and clears the balance on time.
