Credit Mix
Definition
Credit mix is the range of credit types you manage, such as credit cards, an auto loan and a mortgage. It is a minor input to most credit scores.
Scoring models read a mix of revolving accounts, like cards, and installment accounts, like loans, as evidence of handling more than one kind of obligation.
It carries far less weight than payment history or utilization, and it is not a reason on its own to open an account you do not otherwise need.
Mix tends to broaden by itself over time, as different needs arise.
