Payment History
Definition
Payment history is the record of whether you have paid your credit accounts on time. It is the largest single input to most credit scoring models.
A payment is generally reported late once it is 30 days past due. Being a few days late may bring a fee from the lender without reaching the credit file at all.
Late payments carry less weight as they age, but they stay on the file for around seven years.
Because the record is cumulative, it is the slowest of the score inputs to move, and consistency over time counts for more than any single month.
